Della is 1!! {personal}

It's been an entire of year of Della and I am definitely still a bit in shock about it! It's been one of the best years of my life and also the most tired year ever (no one can ever really prepare you for that). For those of you who may not know Della personally, let me just tell you a little bit about her. Della is an entertainer, she knows how to get in the center of a circle and capture everyone's attention. She is funny and loves to make you laugh. Having a big brother around means that she is into cars and trains and balls or pretty much anything she can throw at this point. She is such a happy baby and keeps us smiling all the time. It has been such a fun year watching her grow and seeing her personality develop (a personality that is so distinctly her own). And so to celebrate her, we threw a little garden party up on the roof of Metro (the site of the Hell's Kitchen Farm Project). After 3 years of winter birthday's with Jack, I was all too thrilled to throw an outdoor party for Della...90 degree weather and all. Hosting a party is one of my favorite things and it's one of my "love languages" (the intentional part of it all that is supposed to make someone feel special), so I loved getting the chance to do something like this for her (even though she will never remember it). Thank you to all of our friends who could make it and for so many of you who have been a part of this first year with us! Happy Birthday Della! I love you!!

**the theme was aqua and white...in case you couldn't tell:)**

birthday cake for everyone!

an afternoon with 12 day old Carrie-Anne {NYC Newborn Photographer}

Meet Carrie-Anne...all 12 days of her. She is just perfect and she loved spending time behind the camera. Some babies just know they love the attention from the very beginning I suppose:) Meeting a newborn and spending time with a growing family is always a privilege for me. It is such a special and unique moment of time when (although you're exhausted) time somehow stops for those first few weeks as you sit and stare at this brand new being in your life. Thank you Annie and Neil for letting me be a part of these first days of Carrie-Anne with you! Enjoy the preview!

beautiful 5 week old Henrietta {NYC Baby Photographer}

Henrietta is such a beautiful baby! At 5 weeks her sweet face already has such a distinct and (dare I say it) mature look. And she is happy...so happy! She was awake the whole session long and soaking up the attention the whole time. I think 5 weeks is such a fun transitional age to be a part of because a baby is so close to doing so many new things (smiling, cooing, rolling over even). It's sort of the moment they change from newborn to infant. And it's also a fun time to be with new parents too because while they are still sleep deprived (that blessed extra part of this phase of life), they've learned already how to be a parent to this new baby and can define their coos and cries already. I think you can tell I had a great time at this shoot. Maia, Gabe, and Henrietta thank you for letting be a part of this sweet time with you! Enjoy the preview!!

the Arnold 3!! {Nashville Family Photographer}

Let me start by saying that these 3 are some of my absolute favorite people in the world (not exaggerating either).  Dave and Stephanie are some of our nearest and dearest friends from Nashville and while we keep in touch and make visits to see each other whenever in town (Nashville or NYC), it's never enough. And now that they are a family of THREE with the sweetest little man Winn you could ever meet, well it just sort of breaks my heart that we're not together more often! But enough of me:) Look at their sweet faces...I LOVED being able to photograph them last fall (yes, this is the quite delayed the blog post)! I mean, who wouldn't? Hanging out with Dave and Steph means a lot of laughter (mostly Stephanie laughing at Dave) and now with baby Winn in the mix, it never stops. So happy for them and this new (amazing) phase of life. Grateful for the ways our lives continue to intersect and support each other from afar. Love you three!!
