It's always fun to photograph people you have mutual connections to. Molly and James and I have many mutual connections (even more than I knew before we started our session together), so it felt like I was photographing old friends right from the start. Josh and Vanessa's West Village Engagement {NYC Engagement Photographer}

Meet Josh and Vanessa....a true NYC couple. They met at a party and caught each other's attention and from there...well, you can see where they ended up:) They are local West Villagers and so their neighborhood made for the perfect backdrop for their engagement session. I will always say yes to a West Village shoot! We started off in one of my favorite gardens at the Church of St. Luke's in the Fields (seriously, you must go there if you ever have the chance- this just also happens to be their "backyard") and then spent the rest of our time wandering some of their favorite streets. They are such a fun couple and so very easy to photograph...I can't wait to be a part of your wedding this February! Congratulations...enjoy the preview!

Sarah and Ryan's South Street Seaport Engagement {NYC Engagement Photographer}

When I was talking to Sarah and Ryan about their engagement session, they knew they wanted to be as close to the water as possible (they were engaged on the beach in Montauk), but I'm not sure we knew that choosing South Street Seaport as our location would actually get us on the water too. We started on the cobblestone streets with their colorful buildings and near the huge ships, then ventured over to what is probably the smallest beach area in Manhattan right under the Brooklyn Bridge. It's fenced off (probably for a reason), but Sarah and Ryan didn't let that stop them. Thank goodness too because their beach photos are definitely some of my favorites! Sarah and Ryan, I'm so excited for you to see your preview and can't wait to be a part of your wedding in October!

East River engagement session: Megan and AJ's preview {NYC Engagement Photographer}

This is only my 2nd time at Carl Schurz Park, a really beautiful park right on the East River, but this is Megan and AJ's backdoor and I was so glad they chose it for their engagement session. Besides being so close to their apartment, this park has been made extra special in the last 4 months with the addition of their son Joey. For any parent out there, you know how quickly we form those little routines into our day with a new baby, and strolling along the East River (whether for fun or as a means to calm a newborn down) is one of theirs. So, truly, they couldn't have picked a better spot. And besides the location being great, we added in a little time with Joey in the photos too:) Now the story is complete...Megan, AJ, and Joey, I hope you enjoy the preview!
